Health Services

Residents of The Ledges enjoy full privileges at Milford Regional Medical Center, a major affiliate of UMass Medical Center, located less than five minutes from all of The Ledges’ residences. An agency nurse and around-the-clock staff at The Ledges’ main facility monitor and coordinate health care services with the residents and their physicians. The Ledges’ medical staff and administrators work with each resident to select a team of medical, psychiatric, and therapeutic professionals to serve his/her needs.

The Ledges’ staff coordinates a full range of diagnostic and health services, including annual physicals and eye exams, along with semi-annual dental appointments and other preventative screenings. Our long-term connections with the local medical community ensure that a network of specialists is on-call 24 hours a day.

Our direct support staff members are trained in CPR, First Aid, medication administration, tube feedings, and many have obtained their CNA certification. This comprehensive training program, as well as each staff member’s detailed knowledge of our residents, ensures that The Ledges is fully prepared to treat or appropriately refer medical concerns in both the short and long-term, as well as anticipate and take action against potential sources of concern.
